OPSB Submittal

Permit name: Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need

Seneca Wind, LLC proposes to construct a wind-powered electric generation facility located in Scipio, Reed, Venice, Eden, and Bloom townships in Seneca County. The facility would consist of up to 77 wind turbines with a generating capacity of up to 200 megawatts.

About the Ohio Power Siting Board

The Ohio Power Siting Board (Board), originally known as the Ohio Power Siting Commission, was created in 1972. The authority of the Board is outlined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Chapter 4906.

Our mission is to support sound energy policies that provide for the installation of energy capacity and transmission infrastructure for the benefit of the Ohio citizens, promoting the state’s economic interests, and protecting the environment and land use.

Public Outreach

Seneca Wind will hold a public meeting on October 23, 2019. In 2018, a public meeting was held for the related OPSB case (18-0488-EL-BGN) on April 17 and voluntary open house meetings were held on August 21, 22, and 23, 2018. Seneca Wind has reached out to residents, businesses, educators and community leaders throughout this process, and encourages direct engagement from Seneca County residents to answer questions or address concerns.
